Chinese Brush Painting: Landscape

This 4-week Chinese Brush Painting class is open to all skill levels, including both new and returning students. The class theme will focus on landscapes (mountain-and-water). The basic techniques will be covered in each session: proper brush handling, different brush strokes, ink and color mixing, and use of different rice papers. Students will be encouraged to complete their own individual paintings under her guidance. Materials: Please bring $20 in cash for the instructor for materials. The instructor will provide all brushes, inks, papers and other supplies in order to make this class more affordable and convenient for beginner students.

Chinese Brush Painting and Calligraphy [Adults]

Chinese Brush Painting and Calligraphy is an art form with thousands of years of history and is still widely used today. This class will show you how to paint beautiful and colorful nature images, while also incorporating bold calligraphy by using a simple kit, comprised of traditional ink brush, paint, and rice paper. Learn the techniques to paint a peony flower, bamboo, lotus, fish, mountains and water. You also will learn a brief history of Chinese Art in each class.
